Creating Through the Noise
When Your Mind Is Loud, Creativity Can Become a Language
There are times when the world feels loud.
And then there are times when the world is completely quiet, but your mind isn't.
Thoughts overlap. Responsibilities pile up. Memories return without warning. You replay conversations. You think about tomorrow while still processing yesterday.
Sometimes there are so many thoughts happening at once that you don't even know which one you're actually feeling.
I've learned that not everything happening inside of us can be explained easily.
Sometimes there aren't words for it.
That's where art comes in for me.
When I Can't Explain It, I Create It
Art has become one of the ways I communicate with myself.
There are pieces I've created because I had a clear idea of what I wanted to say.
And then there are pieces that began with nothing more than a feeling.
A strange image.
A color.
A symbol.
A thought I couldn't stop thinking about.
I don't always understand why I'm drawn to something while I'm creating it.
Sometimes the meaning reveals itself later.
And sometimes someone else looks at the finished piece and sees something I never consciously intended.
That's one of the things I find beautiful about creativity.
The subconscious doesn't always speak in sentences.
Sometimes it speaks in pictures.
Mental Health Isn't Always Visible
Mental health awareness is deeply important to me because I understand what it means to experience struggles that other people cannot necessarily see.
A person can smile, work, take care of responsibilities, laugh with friends, create beautiful things—and still be carrying something heavy internally.
That's why I believe we need more spaces where people are allowed to acknowledge what is happening beneath the surface.
Art can be one of those spaces.
For me, creating isn't about pretending difficult emotions don't exist.
It's about allowing them to exist somewhere outside of my head.
I can take something invisible and give it a shape.
I can take confusion and turn it into a landscape.
I can take an emotion and turn it into color.
I can take something overwhelming and transform it into something I can actually look at.
Creativity Doesn't Require You to Feel Okay
There's a strange expectation sometimes that we have to wait until we're inspired to create.
But inspiration isn't always happiness.
Sometimes inspiration comes from uncertainty.
Sometimes it comes from grief.
Sometimes curiosity.
Sometimes frustration.
Sometimes healing.
Sometimes it comes from simply trying to understand yourself.
Not every difficult moment has to become something beautiful.
But sometimes creating something gives us another way to move through that moment.
The Noise Can Become Something Else
The mind can be chaotic.
But creativity allows us to rearrange that chaos.
The thoughts don't necessarily disappear.
The questions don't automatically get answered.
Life doesn't suddenly become simple.
But something changes when what was trapped inside of you becomes something you can see.
Maybe that's one of the reasons humans have always created.
We paint.
We write.
We sing.
We dance.
We tell stories.
We make things from the pieces of ourselves that are difficult to explain.
And sometimes, somewhere in that process, the noise becomes a little easier to understand.
For me, that's part of what AromatikDripz represents.
Not perfection.
Not having everything figured out.
But creating through it.
Because sometimes the things we can't say become the things we create.
